Meet the presenters

Richard Jackson

Richard, our gardening guru, inherited his love of plants from his grandfather. In his varied career he has set up and managed numerous garden centres, including the award-winning Camden Garden Centre: a self-financing, employment and training project for unemployed young people. Richard's first TV appearance was on Going Live!, devising fun gardening ideas for children. His writing and broadcasting credits are many and varied, including, The Daily Telegraph, BBC's Gardener's World Magazine, BBC2's How Does Your Garden Grow and of course QVC!

Gardening, relaxing with family and friends, swimming in an azure-blue, warm sea

What one thing can you not live without?

My family, optimism, plants and my Collins Plant Pests and Diseases book!

What's the scariest thing you've ever done?

Being filmed in a zoo talking about plants, while a huge, hairy tarantula crawled up my bare arm.

What's been your silliest moment at QVC?

Demonstrating a sprinkler and getting soaked. Working with Julian!.

Tell me 3 things you'd take with you to a desert island

A book: Dear Friend and Gardener by Christopher Lloyd and Beth Chatto. A guitar - I might eventually learn how to play it. A pack of Gardeners' Delight tomato seed.
